Samsung Reclaim Mobile Phone

samsung reclaim mobile phone Samsung Reclaim Mobile PhoneGoing green is the current trend in the mobile phone industry. Samsung has coupled with Sprint to launch the eco-friendly mobile phone with appealing features and good design. This is not the first eco-phone from Samsung; you might be familiar with Samsung Blue Earth Mobile Phone. Well, coming back to Reclaim, it is a pleasant phone built with almost 80% recyclable materials. Apart from that, $2 is credited to the “Adopt an Acre Program” by Nature Conservancy in the US. It is truly eco-friendly phone with the outer casing made of bio-plastics derived from corn.

Don’t think that this is a basic phone with eco-friendly tag. Samsung has integrated almost all major features in this device to keep in pace with other sophisticated phones in the market. This slider phone is completely eco-friendly, right from the package to the ink used for printing the user manual. Can’t believe, right? Yes, Samsung has used soy-based ink to print the images and text in the bix and even the manual. Moreover, the phone tray and packaging of this gizmo is made of 70% recycled materials.

The charger blinks to notify the user that the phone is fully fuelled and it is time to unplug the charger from the socket. One can also grab a solar powered charger.(Ooops.. that is an optional feature.) now let us stop digging the eco-friendly features alone. Although, Reclaim is not a smartphone, it comes with a good list of novelties that can attract a good portion of market. QWERTY keyboard being the major highlight, Reclaim is a texter-friendly device.

2MP snapper with video recording is glued to the rear end of the device. Other features include e-mail client support, quick access to various popular sites like YouTube, MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Sprint Navigation GPS helps to rectify your navigational woes. Music aficionados can make use of wirefree headsets as stereo bluetooth is included in this phone. Available in two colours (Green and Ocean Blue), this phone sports a 2.4inch display with 240 x 320 pixels display resolution. Memory can be extended using the microSD cards, and a 3.5mm audio jack allows the users to plug in their favourite headphones into the phone.

Easy to use controls and satisfactory multimedia features of this mobile phone is quite helpful. However, there is a slight shake in the call quality and also the 3G speed is not uptpo the expectation. Although, the greenovation approach by Samsung is welcomed, the Reclaim can be improved to a great extent when it comes to performance. Expected to release in US by August 16, Samsung Reclaim 3G Mobile Phone is available for a deal of $50 if you sign in a 2 year contract.
